Something is happening in London right now.
If you’re in the city, you can feel it. There’s a change in the air. The conversations are more optimistic. The rooms are fuller. The ambition is louder.
We wrote an article about this feeling. Then we wrote another one giving a name — Londonmaxxing — to the feeling. More than 350,000 people saw these articles. It was as if everyone in London paused for a moment to look around. Realising that we were all simultaneously living and building in the greatest city in the world. The possibilities are endless.
In London, you can spend time finding hidden gems amongst world-class museums, galleries, monuments, cafes, and theatres, and still feel like the city has only shown you a fraction of its cultural energy. But the real richness of London is not only culture, but access to the people: ambitious people, eccentric people, deeply knowledgeable people, funny people — people who are between things, building things, recovering from things, or accidentally becoming excellent at something niche. There are some who do not yet have a name for what they are building but they're still building it anyway.
This energy isn’t weather-dependent; it’s deeper than that. It comes from the people in this great city who showed up because of who they are, not because the sun was out. That commitment is resilience, and resilience is what turns a moment into a movement.
So go to the thing. Reply "YES!". Leave the house. Cross the river. Take the invitation seriously. Be the person who suggests something. Learn your city properly. Make a few stories of your own. And you never know, you might make some new friends and collaborate on something legendary together!
This is the year to find your Londonmaxxing people, build something great, and embrace everything London has to offer!
